New Year, New Life-Don’t be trapped by the calendar. Create the life you want right now. Here’s wher click on this link to see Tony Robbins video – approximately 35minutes

I have set goals for 2010, didn’t make a resolution. I never fully grasped the concept of a resolution. Tony covers this very well in the video. To make a resolution you resolve that it will happen. You take away the excuses, you resolve the issues which are concerns along the way. You have step up, set a new standard and no matter what you will reach your goal. Without this mindset it is easy to see why most New Year’s Resolutions have ended on January 15th!

Tony makes another excellent point. Don’t let the calendar dictate your actions! If you have not made a resolution or if your resolution has disolved already, there is nothing stopping you from making a resolution. Remembering that it isn’t a maybe, a should, a wish or a hope! You resolve that whatever it takes it will be achieved!

I would really love to hear your stories! Your past successes with resolutions, and your plans for 2010!

Do bugs give you the feeling of being squeamish? Have you ever watched the movie’s with the “Men in Black” (MIB)? Has anyone ever refered to your person as being less than human?

Of course I am having some fun with this post. Especially since the speaker shows some evidence that we are way more than human, approximately 95% more than human.

Bonnie is very informative, enthusiastic about her work and very entertaining!

Appreciating Uncertainty by Danny J. Stevens

I have been appreciating and learning from Dr. Dyer’s books over the past year! I am just reading one of his first books, “Your Erroneous Zones.” This comment was made in the chapter I am currently reading, “Exploring the Unknown.”

Of all the chapters I had read, this is chapter 11, this one is almost as if it was written just for me. The chapter starts with a statement on early training. A brief statement from that chapter;

“Early training in our society tends to encourage caution at the expense of curiosity, safety at the expense of adventure. Avoid the questionable, stay in area that you know, never wander into the unknown.”

From various sources as we are growing we are protected and taught how to protect ourselves. At some point we need to allow ourselves to gift of exploring the unknown and mysterious. A question he posed in this chapter keeps repeating in my mind as if to say, “have you received this?’ That question was, “Have you really lived 10,000 or more days or have you lived one day, 10,000 or more times?”

As I reflect on the question, I am imagining living 10,000 or more days, as each individual and unique day. It is certain that more attention needs to be given to this question. To really live each day and not just re-live a day I have already lived, how would life be experienced differently? Would love to hear your thoughts on how this would impact your life.

Well Briefly!

A Thought Changes Everything by Danny J. Stevens

Today, I woke up with feelings of being alone. I checked my email, I had new mail. The new mail was from mailing list, alerts from Career Builders of new possible jobs and even some spam to offer some variety.

I reach out with the blogs, my family hisotry site, my participation on various sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, a private accountability forum and Anthony Robbins Grad Site forums. Yet at times I am starved for a phone call, an email, an instant message, a text message, or a knock on the door from a friend who just wanted to say hello!

As I sat feeling these emotions, my dog came up to me with his squeak toy and insisted that I play. It is virtually impossible to ignore his request. Throwing the toy, today it was his blue rubber elephant, I laughed as he continued to beg for me to play. I was laughing and smiling and feeling loved. Even if it was from a creature less that two feet high with curly white fur.

If a pet with a look, gesture or growl can change a person state, couldn’t we also reach out to someone today with a smile, a gesture, a phone call or a pleasant word, phrase or sentence? We live in a connected world. All day long we communicate digitally but rarely interpersonally. Rather than sending a text message, a tweet, an entry on Facebook, an email maybe it would be better to call someone or visit them in person.

There is a Song Inside by Danny J. Stevens

While at Life Mastery, I watched a video by a singer and recording artist, Edwin Coppard. Edwin has been studying the physiology of singing and made the claim that we were intended to sing! Each of us has a song inside and everyone can sing. He took two volunteers from the audience and was able to locate where in their body they were disassociated with the song inside. Working with the volunteer with a simple exercise to re-associate that part of the body to music the volunteer began to sing (where before – they either didn’t sing well or had difficulty). One person was affected by sexual abuse and Edwin zeroed in on the pelvic region. While sitting on the floor and doing a crunch movement of sorts the volunteer began to sing over several ranges. Check out Edwin’s website!

Are you feeling anxious? by Danny J. Stevens

It has been a while since my last post. I let life become an excuse for why I have not been adding to this blog. I have been busy and accomplishing things so the excuse is not totally without truth. However there is plenty of time to add a few lines of thoughts, inspiration or ideas and I will work at being more regular in my postings.

Have you ever felt anxious and you never knew the cause but the anxious feelings persisted? For the smokers they reach for the cigarettes. For those who use food, reach for something to eat. What does cigarettes and food have in common in this instance? The puff of the cigarette slows the breathing down. The eating of food and the digestion process causes the breathing to slow down. So next time you are feeling anxious, take a big deep breath in say over 8 seconds, hold for 4 seconds and release for two seconds. Do this process over several times.

Changes the perspective and how we view what is happening around us. Best part we don’t have to rely on something else to help us enter a better state.

More tomorrow!

Do you know who you are? by Danny J. Stevens

Do you know who you are? That questions sparks a different response at various stages of my life.

by Robert Kraft

Early on in life I wanted to fly a plane. The stories of grand adventures and learning would often be told when I was getting my haircut. I used to give this lady a kiss for a cookie, or a story to cut my hair. I am not sure where the toy went or where it came from but I used to have a wooden airplane which I could sit in much like the plastic cars kids have today.
Is this information significant? I think so, it tells of my imagination. It tells you of my wish for adventure. My love to tell stories and most important – a chocolate chip cookie can open my soul.
As you sit there next to your fellow members and guest, do you know who they are?
We are all unique. Just as each flake of snow is said to be different, each human being although similar to others is a unique creation. The current world is estimated at approximately 6.7 trillion people. This don’t include an estimate of how many people have came before, this is just the current population. That number alone is staggering. The population of the United States is approximately 306 million. Approximately one third of a Trillion, or imagine 22 countries of the size of the United States in the world.

Each person is unique, different friends, different experiences, different cultures, different beliefs, different wants, different desires, different aspirations, different languages, different customs and different thoughts. This represents only a small list of ways in which we could be different.
Some people in an effort to identify themselves to others use labels representing a belief system such as I am a Lutheran, I am agnostic, or I am a Catholic. Others will exclaim I am a Democrat or Republican. I believe you will agree that labels only tell a small part about who we are.
In an effort to tell you more about who I am I might use job titles. While they give you some idea of what I do, they really do not explain much about who I am, and what makes me unique.
Human beings often join clubs, bands of people with similar interest on some plane. Should I tell you I tell you the list of organization I belonged? Would you then know what makes me unique?
I love life
I love to laugh
I love music
I have worked It Information Technology for most of my life. I worked myself up from the journeyman levels to being a Supervisor, Manager. I have run my own retail shop for the home computer market in the early 1980s. Currently I am interested in Ebooks, Personal Development, Business, am a Licensed Health Insurance agent in the Medicare Supplement and Advantage plan market.
I have a variety of interest; Reading, travel, computers, writing to name a few.

This talk gives you a little idea of who I am, or at least who I am not. You have asked me to give you an idea of who I am in approximately 6 minutes. Impossible!

The human race has had dreams of being able to alter time and travel from one moment to another with the hopes of altering events. Many books and films have explored the idea and repercussions and consequences of altering time. Each event weaves a web and touches and alters other events. It would be difficult to determine what difference one life made. A smile, a gesture, the words spoken or not spoken which may have affected another person to do or not do something, say something, pass on a gesture or maybe even a smile.

The common acceptance is that events in the past are what they are, unchangeable. Philosophers caution that even if the events were changeable, what has happened has happened for a reason. Worrying about an event in the past gives no energy or substance to the event. Punishing yourself for something that happened is not going to alter the present or prepare us to alter the future. It will help to keep us from doing anything to change the current events in the future.

There are ways to deal with the past. The events are still in the past and are unchangeable we can change however our feelings towards those past events. I would state that it is the feelings about the past which people would like to change the most anyway. For those that disagree, I bet you would agree that changing those feelings would help.

There are many ways to deal with your past and the feelings associated to it. I have experienced many of these techniques and have read several books dealing on the concepts. I will provide some sources which may be of interest to you. You may find the information helpful or not. If it resonates with you and you wish to know more, please send me a comment. I am not a therapist. I am someone like yourself who has goals, wants and desires and I need a way to find more time or organize my time so I can experience life to the degree and level I have intended. I have been looking for a process or system which would help me to optimize and be more efficient.

I have been a huge supporter of to-do list. The problem occurs when you discover you have multiple to do list. You will also discover that there are items on the list which you don’t reach. We spend time rearranging the list and attempting to get to complete the to-do list on a daily basis. I have heard many ways to sort, collate and massage a to-do list. However I still felt stressed. I still felt like I had very little time. At the end of the day the same results existed in that key items went uncompleted. If I was successful and finished large amounts it could be analyzed and I was busy doing things which robbed me from working on getting results. (To be continued)

This video is on YouTube. A friend of mine states, “It is not failure, but massive feedback!” Tony Robbins in his seminars tells of several times where things were not working as well as they should. The message he received was massive feedback. Tony uses those times to help others. When the outcomes are not as they should be, what is the questions you are aksing yourself? Are they empowering questions?

Each of these people could have accepted the words and opinions of others. It would have been easy to accept defeat. The common thread with each of these people is the unwillingness to allow the words or opinions of others to deter there convictions. It is a matter of perspective!

Are you feeling paralyzed? by Danny J. Stevens

One thing that is certain during these economic times is the abundance of stress, the speculation of fear and the predictions of failure. Just yesterday I received an email from a company offering information on a gentleman who had made predictions in the past and so far all of his predictions have come to pass.

Careful speculation on those predictions and I am sure I could find a few occasions where his information is always 100%. Why does his prediction seem to be so accurate? Could it be his belief? Could it be that we have been lead to believe that his thoughts are correct? I started to feel panic and stress and I thought why? What give his predictions the power to paralyze?

The power of predictions is the amount of certainty that is projected, the clout already attained and the populous by thinking it is so creates the conditions. We become what we think about most of the time!

I am 100% certain that with the belief that the current economic downturn is correctable and everyone works to that intention than we will find ways to turn the economy around. Being paralyzed, stressed, and fearful and sharing this fearful news paralyzes, stresses and creates more fear! Product is what we had been experiencing. I would rather be looking towards recovery and finding solutions. Wouldn’t you agree?
