The Robbins Rule by Danny J. Stevens

In Day 20, of Giant Steps, Tony introduces some concepts which we have already been discussing.   There are a few simple steps which will lead to making empowering decisions and goals, acting on those decisions, and creating the environment and mindset to allow us to reach and or surpass the expected results.

Question 1:

Before deciding on anything which will affect your life, you will want to _________________.

2.)    Allow someone else to make the decision, and let you know.

3.)    Just decide, quit being a wimp

4.)    Be in the best possible state, a peak state

Question 2:

When you make a decision in order to start forward movement towards reaching the outcome / results, a must Tony helps to instill in everyone is _____________________________.

1.)     There should be a waiting period, so that you can review this later and change your mind

2.)    Make a wish and hope it will happen

3.)    Do something now

4.)    Write it down in a permanent journal

Question 3:

To ensure that we continue to move towards the goal / decision you should ______________________.

1.)     Tell your mother

2.)     Engage a team of people, to keep you accountable and encourage you

3.)     Break the path in to S.M.A.R.T. based goals

4.)    Continue each day to make a decision which will move you toward the goal and

Act on it the next day.

Answer to Question 1:

Before deciding on anything which will affect your life, you will want to be in the best possible state, a peak state.   Do whatever you can to put you into a state where you feel you can accomplish anything.   A state where you know that you know you can do whatever you set out to do.   If you have to imagine what it would be like to be able to feel this way.  Use the power of your imagination to see, feel, smell, taste or touch yourself being successful.  Hold this thought.  Stand in a stance which make you feel unbeatable; speak in a way which demands success, Look at the things that make you feel strong.  Use any part of your senses which make you feel strong.

Physical activity will release hormones which will help to raise your state and your feeling of success.  Speaking of success, breeds success.   Remembering or imagining yourself being successful raises your expectations.   Once at the state where you know you can accomplish what you set out to do, then you can make a meaningful decision or goal.

If you are in a depressed state, feeling sorry for yourself or like a failure, what kind of a decision or goal would you make?   Could you even make the decision or goal?

Answer to Question 2:

When you make a decision in order to start forward movement towards reaching the outcome / results, a must Tony helps to instill in everyone is do something now and write it down in a permanent journal.    Once you have made a goal or decision you want to do something which will move you towards the completion or attainment of the objective.  You may need to establish a plan of action, call someone, obtain a business license or whatever you can do to actively (meaning putting action) to reaching your goal.

Answer to Question 3:

To ensure that we continue to move towards the goal / decision you should engage a team of people, to keep you accountable and encourage you, break the path in to S.M.A.R.T. based goals and continue each day to make a decision which will move you toward the goal and Act on it the next day.

We could also include telling your mother, however if you have issues with seeking permission,  approval,  or being submissive to a parent, then it is best to step up and be accountable to yourself.

We all need to create a network / team of people who we can count on to tell us when we are off the path, encourage us through life, and those who we can expect will expect that we will keep our word and do what we say.
