Reflection on a Famous Quote – January 20, 2012 By: Danny J. Stevens

“Don’t say you don’t have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michaelangelo, Mother Teresea, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein.” –Life’s Little Instruction Book

When I posted this on Facebook a friend wrote, “Another interesting thought, I know 4 of the six of those had sleeping disorders and only slept between 3 and 6 hours a day, not always at the same time.”  Add to this, Helen Keller was deaf, blind and was once thought unable to learn.   Michaelangelo is said to have suffered from Autism.  It is also believed that he was abused by his father.  Albert Einstein was considered unreachable, lacking the ability to learn.

Examining their lives we find that they lived their life with passion.   Each found a way to use their abilities to be a benefit to others.   Helen Keller did learn and became a voice to the world. Michaelangelo used his ability to draw and paint to leave the world beautiful work s of art.  Albert Einstein used his love of math to give us the Theory of Relativity, which is still giving to the world, and is responsible for Space Travel, the unleashing of the energy of an atom. Dr. Pasteur used his medical background to save many from the effects of bacteria.  Thomas Jefferson used his passion to lead to assist a country to gain their independence.  Mother Theresa used his passion for people and serving God and following her heart to care for the poor and sick.  Leonardo DiVinci used his passion to ask questions and his curiosity about life to leave us his journals to help us learn and expand on his thoughts.

This is what Tony Robbins calls personal power.   We are all equal in that we all have boundless possibilities, same amount of time, and yet some folks create and help others given the same amount of time and with a dreams and goals for the future.  If you love is cooking or science, what can you do with your passion?
